INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS WITH THE CUSTOMER IN MIND
ink Electronics was founded in July 1989 with headquarters in Cape Girardeau Missouri. The company's charter was to develop quality, reasonably priced products for the television broadcast industry. Link is well known as a professional supplier of broadcast equipment. Within six months of founding this new company, Link Electronics brought to market a series of audio and video distribution amplifiers. The product line also consisted of slave generators for system timing.
In February 1990 the company began the development of the only SCH timing device for monitoring subcarrier and horizontal timing to be displayed on a standard video monitor. The IEC-835 SCH timing instrument is ideally suited for simple or complex timing requirements.
The company moved from a rented facility in September 1990 to a 3000 square feet company owned building. With approximately ninety products in the line, the company began the development of a series of digital products in September 1994. The 1000 series digital product line spent eighteen months in R&D. The 1000 frame was developed to accommodate digital, analog, audio and video modules operating in the same mounting frame. There are more than 40 modules for the DigiFlex 1000 series now available for immediate shipment. Other new products are under development.
In April 1993 the company introduced a closed caption encoder and decoder to the broadcast industry. The PCE-845 closed caption encoder has been accepted by broadcasters, post facilities and caption providers around the world. Link Electronics is keeping abreast of new technologies in the Closed Caption field. In April 1996 deliveries began on a state of the art closed caption encoder, decoder and data recovery unit, model PDR-885. The PDR-885 is fully V-Chip compatible, and is well accepted by the Canadian Broadcasters for the implementation of V-Chip throughout Canada. Using microprocessor technology, the PDR-885 is well suited for all caption requirements. In March of 1997 the company introduced a serial digital closed caption encoder/decoder, model PDE-890. During the 1999 NAB Convention the company introduced a dual microprocessor encoder/decoder for digital, Model PDP-886. A digital and analog encoder/decoder was introduced in April 2002, Models PDA-895 and ENC-896.
Today the company manufactures more than two hundred products and more to be announcing soon. Link Electronics has taken the systems approach when adding new products to the line of equipment. The products are designed to demanding specifications for the NTSC/PAL color television standards. The manufacturing plant is centrally located in the Midwest to better serve the industry.
On August 23, 1996, the company signed a contract to build a ten thousand square feet building in the same community. The new building located at 2137 Rust Avenue, Cape Girardeau was occupied in April 1997. The present employment is twenty-one people.
The founder began his video career in April of 1960 as a field engineer with Dage Television, a manufacturer of closed circuit cameras and video monitors. In 1967 he went into sales and was transferred to New Jersey, responsible for all company products for the Northeast thirteen states. In 1970 he went to work for International Video corp. as Northeast Regional Manager, responsible for broadcast cameras and tape recorders for the Northeast. In 1978 he went to work for Lenco Electronics as Northeast Regional Manager and in 1979 he was promoted to National Sales Manager, moving to Jackson Missouri. In 1985 he joined Leitch Video as the US Marketing Manager headquartered in Chesapeake Virginia for a period of two years. After two years, he formed a dealer company in August 1987 and in July 1989 he founded Link Electronics. His entire working career has been in the field of video. With this wealth of video experience, he has a great deal of leadership to guide Link Electronics into the 21 century..
The engineering staff and production personnel are one of the best in the industry. Our objective to assure the customer that they are buying the best product available. A ten-year warranty and friendly voice on the phone will hopefully give you confidence in our products and service.
In July 2003, the company celebrated it’s 14th year of operation. We hope we can continue to be your supplier of professional products.
